Alana Wilkie is an Australian artist born in Toowoomba, Queensland, currently working between regional and international contexts. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Art (Painting) from RMIT University, Melbourne, graduating with Distinction.

Wilkie’s practice centres on highly detailed paintings and drawings derived from found imagery, which she disrupts through the introduction of unexpected or incongruous elements. These interventions reframe the original image, creating layered narratives that explore tension, ambiguity, and the shifting nature of meaning. Her work often balances technical precision with conceptual play, inviting viewers to reconsider familiar visual language.

Her artworks are held in private collections across Australia and internationally, including in Spain, the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, and New Zealand. In 2023, she undertook an artist residency in Rome, where she was awarded the Rome Art Program Purchase Award.

Alongside her studio practice, Wilkie is an experienced educator specialising in portraiture, where she is known for fostering a supportive and accessible learning environment for artists of all levels.
