If you have a favourite photo of a time or place that you would like me to use as a reference to produce an artwork, please contact me. I particularly enjoy painting or drawing old buildings.
I am passionate about painting people and places. I love the landscape in all of its moods, from soft Australian light to the warm colours of the outback. I have an affinity with the Australian bush and its people, having grown up in Western Queensland.
Experienced in a variety of media my early works were commissions of buildings and rural subjects. I have enjoyed being part of several small group exhibitions-Maryborough Warehouse Gallery, Kingaroy Shire Gallery, Wondai Shire Gallery and Trevenan House Gallery New Farm.
The soft blue-grey distance and colours of the landscape and atmosphere challenge me to create artwork that conveys Australia’s unique light. A land of extreme contrasts I also aspire to share its harsh colourful beauty and history. I enjoy creating works that show space and distance or tell a story of serenity, relationships, freedom or exploration. My work is traditional in style. I am also keen to capture old buildings and structures that are at risk of being lost forever to time.
