Many years ago I played around painting with watercolour but life got in the way so stopped. Several years later I returned to my brushes and practiced more frequently and slowly my hobby developed into a passion that has led me on a creative journey that is personally enriching.
While I paint many subjects I am drawn to people. The figures and portraits that I create are crafted to explore and define human emotion. There is a tension between what is seen and what is withheld, using watercolour to construct portraits shaped by light, absence, and psychological presence.
My artistic practice is heavily Influenced by my background in practicing in clinical psychology, where I have the privilege to be witness to the subtle nuances of human emotion. With my works exhibited and awarded internationally, I have been fortunate to of had my art selected to represent Australia and to exhibit among master watercolour artists internationally. I strive to create images that connect the viewer with the subject so they may experience what may be felt within. I hope you enjoy my art as much as I enjoy painting.
